Eating animals is cannibalism to me; I just don’t want to do it. Most people don’t want to eat their siblings, even if they’re annoying and that’s exactly how I feel about (not) eating animals. I’ve been a long-term vegan since 2007, so this is not a dietary trend to me, but my value system, my heart and Soul.
I do this out of compassion and because I love animals, not in order to belong to any group of people, not for health reasons and not to be right about anything. I really don’t care about being right. I am very agnostic about everything.
As we all know, vegans are people and people often come with a lot of mental issues. I’ve met a lot of crappy vegans, too. I don’t put vegans on a pedestal, but I do prefer having vegans around me over having non-vegans around me. Animal corpses are corpses to me.
I’ve been too tolerant in the past; I tried dating someone who goes fishing (and was toxic in other ways, too) and it was the worst, most toxic fakelationshit I have ever experienced. Never again. It was extremely stressful and even years later, I am still recovering from it.
(Stress and Hashimoto are NOT compatible.)
I can do vegetarian exceptions but they never convince me.
I grew up in the country, in a small village, with everyone around me exploiting animals and I’ve eaten a LOT of animals as a child and young adult. However, this has never been “normal” to me once I learned about all the hells we put animals through. That’s just gluttony and satan. No need. I don’t care about that small-farm BS talk, either. I grew up next to these small farms. I wouldn’t want to be killed for a replaceable meal so I don’t want to do it to others.
… And I really love cows. We breed the most docile beings and then we put them through hell and eat them – to me that’s satanic. I don’t see the point. Get a lab. Get a replicator. Get another planet. Go vegan.
– Going vegan is the easiest, most basic option almost anyone can do. Even if you don’t care about animals, it’s just better for our climate, that’s just how it is. Regional, seasonal, organic and most of all vegan food is simply the best for our planet and we only have one.
I don’t argue about being vegan or not, never did, no energy for that, no time for that. In addition, I’m a very defiant person and I certainaly wouldn’t have become a vegan, if anyone had pushed me. Quite the contrary. I’m basically a donkey-cat. (If you’re not vegan and feeling threatened by my veganism, remember you came here to my website; this is MY home. I don’t go out of my way and tell people what to do in their home. I’m talking about my life here, in my home.)
What you won’t find here is a praise of bone broth or other animal proteins – I think this may be interesting to fellow vegans.
I do pay attention to getting all the amino acids. That’s very important, in my humble opinion, for a variety of reasons, such as healthy blood cells and organ tissues. (Hail L-Glutamine!)
According to a food intolerance test, I don’t tolerate casein, the dairy protein. According to that same test, I do tolerate eggs, but I don’t care much for them and I find that eating eggs is hardly ever ethically correct. (I don’t have any pet chickens that occasionally leave me an egg to eat. And if I did, I would probably give it to my cat.)
My cat is omnivorous and gets mostly insect protein and fish, but I do believe in vegan cat food. (She loves vegan cat food, but she gets fat from it very quickly.) I do believe in the future of vegan cat food though.
I used to have a dog. My dog got vegan food. Nutrient-wise, it’s easier for dogs to be vegan than it is for cats and there’s already better food on the market for dogs than for cats. (There is a vegan who stole my recipe and started a successful dog food brand.)
If I ever have a dog again, she/he will probably get vegan and/or insectivore food. If the nutrients are complete and the animal has no food intolerance against the food, there is no problem apart from the mental ones some people have (norms, traditions, cognitive dissonance etc.).
Dif-tor heh smusma.
